About the project
We're a group making GTK and Shell themes for Linux desktop environments. We've been active since 2015, which is quite a while! Some of our most known work include our Windows 10, macOS and Windows XP themes.
Lots of stuff has happened since our first release. We had to make some adjustments to support GNOME 3.14, 3.16 and 3.18, before having to start a big rewrite with the release of GTK 3.20. We're currently working on having the themes up to spec for GTK 4.
We've also supported a long list of DEs, although we've had to drop some to reduce our workload. We started with Cinnamon and GNOME, before trying to do something for KDE (unsuccessful), then supporting MATE, LXDE and XFCE. We supported Fluxbox for a while too.
Making themes is hard, particularly for GTK environments. Every new release breaks something, or adds new code, or reworks previous stylesheets. For a while, we worked with CSS files, but it proved quite demanding, specially after the release of GTK 3.20.
One of the solutions we explored was using SCSS instead, and it worked out pretty well. That's what we are currently using, but even then, the new GTK 4 changes make it so that we will probably have to drop a few themes. We hope to keep all the 'retro' themes going,
but we haven't decided which ones will get axed yet. The B00merang themes will also be discontinued in favor of a new unique theme, which we hope will mesh the best elements from the previous ones.
We've had quite a few breaks over the years. It's hard working on this hobby when other stuff of higher priority is going on. But we want to keep working on this project, maybe with your help if you want to. Visit our contact page to message us if you're interested.
